HOME INDUSTRY developed from a love of ‘how-to’ for the home and is the creation of sisters Simone and Martine Kilo, along with mother Patricia.
We offer a unique custom made service to create beautiful, locally handmade homewares and interior products especially for and in consultation with you. Furniture restoration and re-upholstery are service specialties, along with custom made curtains and blinds.
We regularly source unique vintage curiosities and feature an ever changing selection of cushions, tablelinen and upholstered furniture in the store, which we produce here in our workshop.
We are also the key stockist of ClothFabric and have a selection of Cloth yardage and remnants in store, along with other quality interior fabrics.
The Home Industry Team
SIMONE has a background in business finance but soon established more creative endeavours for many years with her vintage store Vanilla Bean in Balmain, Sydney. Many clients are now re-discovering Simone at Home Industry and her keen eye for curating and restoring vintage furniture.
MARTINE has a degree in Textiles and has worked in creative industries for over 20 years. Having been Art & Print manager at iconic brand Mambo and Production Manager for textile brand Clothfabric for a decade, she brings her industry experience in design, product development and operations to Home Industry.
PATRICIA has been restoring furniture and teaching others to do it for over 30 years, including groups of women in small rural towns for TAFE. Her wealth of creative knowledge and ‘know-how’ is endless and she shares it by teaching our Upholstery Workshops as well as crafting items for the Home Industry shop.
